Email Data
Business email data is available with your prospect list. Business emails are quoted separately from standard prospect data and when sourcing emails with your marketing lists you should consider:
- Do you require one email per company, or all emails from each business?
- Would you like to include generic emails (e.g. "info@") or named email addresses?
In purchasing an email data list you should question the data quality. Specifically, how many "hard bounces" do the list brokers guarantee?
Soft bounces occur when a prospect’s server rejects an email from its spam filters. No list broker can accurately forecast the percentage of soft bounces.
Hard bounces occur from out-dated (dead) emails and can be guaranteed. Responsiva guarantees less than 10% of hard bounces.
Number of Sites
There are more than one million businesses operating from a single site. The number of sites a business has is a useful tool in removing the chains from b2b data lists, which are easily recognisable as having 10+ sites.
Multiple site business information presents potential marketing issues in identifying the key decision maker from within the businesses. Responsiva segment the mailing lists by also applying other variables such as:
- Named director at site
- Head office premise type
Data lists utilising the number of sites is of particular interest to companies marketing (say) software integration systems and internal courier services.
If you require business lists to be counted by the number of sites please ask your Account Manager because this is not a typical variable by which marketing lists are regularly segmented.
How Many Prospects Do You Need?
There is little point in purchasing a prospect database of 10,000 records if you will only market to 500 of them.
Most list brokers have minimum order levels. Responsiva's minimum order levels are lower than most, with the smallest data files being appropriately sized for the sole trading business.
A dedicated telemarketer will make a typical 100 – 150 dials per day, or 2,000 – 3,000 per month. This would suggest that a telemarketing data file of 2,500 records is of an appropriate size for a business to keep a full-time telemarketer busy for one month.
For mailing lists, with a response rate of 1% a b2b mailing list of 1,000 records should yield ten enquiries. This is a reasonable benchmark to work backwards from.
Business Premise Type
There are fourteen premise types with Responsiva's business data lists. In choosing the right marketing data for your campaigns, the premise type can have immense value.
The distinct premise types available with marketing lists are:
| 1. | Factories | (4.1%) |
| 2. | Warehouses | (1.3%) |
| 3. | Traders from home | (11.8%) |
| 4. | Retail outlets | (31.0%) |
| 5. | Offices | (14.7%) |
| 6. | Head offices | (21.9%) |
| 7. | Education | (2.7%) |
| 8. | Medical | (3.6%) |
| 9. | Transport | (0.1%) |
| 10. | Civic | (0.4%) |
| 11. | Workshops & repair | (3.6%) |
| 12. | Sports & leisure | (2.3%) |
| 13. | Centres of worship | (1.0%) |
| 14. | Other | (1.7%) |
B2b data can be tailored to your market using the premise type. For example, fork lift truck companies would be interested in warehouse prospect lists, whereas photocopier sales would prefer a data list of offices.
