Why do you need an Account Manager?
All Responsiva's business data lists are fulfilled by a dedicated Account Manager.
This is to ensure the business lists you purchase are what you need.
There are many pitfalls with mailing data lists and the best way to avoid these is with the support of your dedicated Account Manager. Responsiva will never knowingly sell you prospect data lists which are not fit for purpose.
An example of the pitfalls with database lists follows:
Your target market is companies with 5 – 20 employees, with five as an absolute minimum. "5 employees" is an anomaly within the business universe and (being a fluid variable) can also include sole traders with two or three temporary staff. Your Account Manager will clarify this fact with you prior to purchase.
Email Data
Business email data is available with your prospect list. Business emails are quoted separately from standard prospect data and when sourcing emails with your marketing lists you should consider:
- Do you require one email per company, or all emails from each business?
- Would you like to include generic emails (e.g. "info@") or named email addresses?
In purchasing an email data list you should question the data quality. Specifically, how many "hard bounces" do the list brokers guarantee?
Soft bounces occur when a prospect’s server rejects an email from its spam filters. No list broker can accurately forecast the percentage of soft bounces.
Hard bounces occur from out-dated (dead) emails and can be guaranteed. Responsiva guarantees less than 10% of hard bounces.
Geographical Requirements
All b2b data requires a geographical specification, even if this is the full UK.
When ordering marketing data lists the geographical aspect should be the first point of consideration. B2b mailing lists may be segmented geographically by:
- Town
- County
- Postcode AREA (e.g. "M", "WA", "SK")
- Postcode DISTRICT (e.g. "M1", "M3 - 5", "M8 & 9")
- Postcode SECTOR (e.g. "M12 5", "M12 7 - M12 9")
The value of targeting marketing data to a tight catchment area is the reduction of travelling time (and petrol costs) for your sales team.
There are 124 postcode areas in the UK, and a mailing list may be segmented by territories (e.g. "North West", "Scotland", "London" etc).
Counts of available mailing lists may be supported with maps.
Contact Job Titles
The contact job title of the most senior contact name is a key determinant when considering business mailing lists. 96% of Responsiva's mailing lists have a contact name.
When specifying business prospect data, you can opt to ensure all records contain a contact name.
The job title tells us a lot about the business list;
- 72% of job titles are directors. This includes titles like Managing Director, Proprietor, Partner, Chief Executive and Chairman. These are decision-making job titles with a clear autonomy at the business site. These are perfect as a telemarketing data list.
- 28% of job titles are managers. For example, Office Manager, Branch Manager.
These titles have value but are less likely to convert for marketing most services.
